Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

What is our lymphatic system and what does it do?

In basic terms, the lymphatic system or lymphoid system is compiled of lymphatic cells and lymph nodes, . Our lymphatic system is closely associated with our immune and circulatory systems. It helps to keep our body free of antigens. When the lymphatic system becomes obstructed, impaired or damaged. Through medical, biological or mechanical reasoning, lymphatic fluid can become congested causing swelling to the joints and limbs. If left untreated further issues can arise such as ulceration and skin integrity break down.

LMD assist to reduce the lymphatic fluid congestion through specialised massage and mobilisation techniques, that gently helps to move the fluid through the lymph channels and nodes and back into the circulatory system.
